When to Use
Symbol Map is best for showing individual locations on a map. Each row in your table becomes a point, making it ideal for:
- Visualizing leads or customer addresses for sales and marketing.
- Plotting store branches, offices, or warehouses.
- Displaying event locations or site visits.
Create in 3 Steps
- Select a map type
When creating a new layer, choose Symbol Map.
- Match data
- Select data source: Choose Google Sheets or Notion as your source.
- For Notion, you can connect directly to your account or use a public share link.
- For Google Sheets, paste the public URL of your sheet.
- Choose coordinate type:
- Use Lat/Lon fields if your table already contains latitude and longitude.
- Or select Address and pick a field for address, then MapOn will automatically geocode it into coordinates.
- Visualize
Customize how the symbols appear on the map:
- Choose the symbol style — either Circle or Icon — depending on how you want your data points to be displayed.
- Circle is best when you want to emphasize the location itself.
- Icon is useful when you want to differentiate categories with distinct shapes, such as using different icons for restaurants, retail stores, and warehouses.
- Select a field to control symbol color.
- Add labels to make locations easier to identify.
