When to Use

Symbol Map is best for showing individual locations on a map. Each row in your table becomes a point, making it ideal for:

• Visualizing leads or customer addresses for sales and marketing.
• Plotting store branches, offices, or warehouses.
• Displaying event locations or site visits.

Create in 3 Steps

1. Select a map type

When creating a new layer, choose Symbol Map.

1. Match data

• Select data source: Choose Google Sheets or Notion as your source.
  • For Notion, you can connect directly to your account or use a public share link.
  • For Google Sheets, paste the public URL of your sheet.
• Choose coordinate type:
  • Use Lat/Lon fields if your table already contains latitude and longitude.
  • Or select Address and pick a field for address, then MapOn will automatically geocode it into coordinates.

1. Visualize

Customize how the symbols appear on the map:

• Choose the symbol style — either Circle or Icon — depending on how you want your data points to be displayed.
  • Circle is best when you want to emphasize the location itself.
  • Icon is useful when you want to differentiate categories with distinct shapes, such as using different icons for restaurants, retail stores, and warehouses.
• Select a field to control symbol color.
• Add labels to make locations easier to identify.
