When to Use

Region Map is best for showing aggregated data by administrative areas - instead of plotting each point, it groups values under regions like countries, provinces, or districts. This makes it ideal for:

Comparing sales or performance across cities, states, or countries.
Displaying population or demographic data aggregated by administrative boundaries.
Highlighting survey or research results at regional levels.

Create in 3 Steps

Select a map type

When creating a new layer, choose Region Map.

Match data

Select data source: Choose Google Sheets or Notion as your source.
- For Notion, you can connect directly to your account or use a public share link.
- For Google Sheets, paste the public URL of your sheet.
Region: Choose the default map extent for the Region Map
- Choose the scope you want the map to show:
  - World (by country) → display the entire world divided into countries.
  - Country → zoom in to one specific country.
  - Depending on your dataset, you can also set the view directly to sub-national levels.
- Display data: Decide how the data should be grouped and displayed
  - Admin 0: country level.
  - Admin 1: state or province.
  - Admin 2: county or district.
