When to Use
Heat Map is best for showing density or intensity. Instead of plotting each location as a single point, values are aggregated into a smooth color gradient, making it ideal for:
- Identifying hotspots of customer activity (e.g., where most check-ins or orders happen).
- Highlighting population clusters or areas with high demand.
Create in 3 Steps
- Select a map type
When creating a new layer, choose Heat Map.
- Match data
- Select data source: Choose Google Sheets or Notion.
- For Notion, connect your account or use a public share link.
- For Google Sheets, paste the public URL of your sheet.
- Choose coordinate type:
- Use Lat/Lon fields if your data already has coordinates.
- Or select an Address column, and MapOn will geocode it into coordinates.
- Visualize
- Select a color to represent density (e.g., green to red).
- Adjust the radius to control how widely each point is.
- You can reverse the color if needed.
